On a warm September afternoon I headed south to meet with Matt + Megan and celebrate their engagement.
We got some of the dreamiest lighting, full of that late summer harvest dusty goodness. Photographers, you know exactly what I am talking about. Clients, trust me…it is SO good. The location that these two picked was tomato fields on one side and dry grassy oaks on the other. The perfect mix.
When Megan reached out to me she told me she wanted greens and they were hoping for September. Two things that are usually hard to get at the same time. But when I saw the tomato field I knew she had nailed the location (Matt scouted it, so we’ll give him credit too). And we started there.
Are you kidding me.
And to give a little variety we changed and went to the other side of the location and got the two of them in the dry grassy oaks.
Megan flew in just a couple hours before her shoot, she is finishing nursing school out of state. I am the first to admit that after a flight I do not look photoshoot ready. This was not the case for Megan.
Outfit change and back to the field. A classic white dress is ALWAYS a good idea.
And the best for last…Matt’s vintage pick-up. It was his grandpa’s, and he restored it in high school. A few years later it got into a wreck, and he just finished restoring it again (hopefully for the last time). It was perfect to add something unique, fun, and meaningful to their shoot.
I loved working with these two, they made my job so easy and I hope to see them again soon!
If you’re planning your engagement shoot I highly recommend including something that is unique/meaningful to the two of you in your shoot.
A few ideas:
YOU get to make your session as detailed or simple as you want. No idea is too big for consideration 🙂
